Event date:
Friday, June 24, 2022 - 6:30pm

Event Location

Athens-Clarke Co. Library
Appleton Auditorium
2025 Baxter St.
Athens, GA 30606

In the midst of a crazy-fun, crazy-hot Athfest weekend, treat yourself to an early evening A/C music-and-books break before you head back downtown. Meet us at the ACC Library's Appleton Auditorium for a very special, oh-so-Athens event with Adam Clair, author of Endless Endless: A Lo-Fi History of the Elephant 6 Mystery

Endless Endless delves into the unconventional inner workings of the mercurial collective from which they emerged: The Elephant Six Recording Company. Through countless interviews with the musicians involved (as well as their colleagues and contemporaries in the legendary music hotbed of Athens, and distributed around the country), Endless Endless offers surprising new perspectives and insights on this enigmatic community and the iconic record it produced.

Adam will read from his book, followed by a Q&A session moderated by Henry Owings. The evening will end with a musical performance by musicians from the Elephant 6 Collective.

6:30pm: Doors
7:00pm: Adam Clair reading
7:20pm: Q&A moderated by Henry Owings
8:00pm: Performance featuring Robert Schneider (Apples in Stereo), Will Hart (Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System), John Fernandes (Olivia Tremor Control) and Andrew Rieger (Elf Power)

Cost: Free (though we hope you'll support this touring author as well as Avid Bookshop with a purchase from Avid's mobile bookshop at the event)

Event info can also be found on the library's website here. Huge thanks to the library for taking the lead on this event!
