Avid Bookshop and Girls Rock Athens present author Pénélope Bagieu for her book Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World. Pénélope will be in conversation with artist and curator Tatiana Veneruso. This event will take place on Monday, March 12 from 6:30 to 7:30pm at the 40 Watt Club. Admission fee is $7, with $2 from each ticket going to Girls Rock Athens.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Pénélope Bagieu was born in Paris in 1982, to Corsican and Basque parents. She is a bestselling graphic novel author and her editorial illustrations have appeared all over the French media. She blogs, drums in a rock band, and watches lots of nature shows. Exquisite Corpse was her first graphic novel to be published in the United States.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Tatiana Veneruso is an artist, designer, curator and collector living in Athens, GA. Connecticut-born and South Florida-raised, she graduated with a BFA in Illustration and Sculpture from Savannah College of Art & Design (Savannah, GA) in 2004. For two years, she served as Director of the Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, a non-profit, contemporary art gallery. Currently, she is the Artistic Director at Trio Contemporary Art Gallery and works for the Athens Cultural Affairs Commission. She is a lover/collector of art, fashion, antiques, cats, and all things unique.
