Avid Bookshop proudly presents the next installment of the Avid Poetry Series curated by Rosalie Moffett featuring Jenny Sadre-Orafai and Lindsay Turner. This reading will take place on Friday, November 2, from 6-7pm at our Prince Ave. location. The event is free and open to the public.

ABOUT THE POETS:

Jenny Sadre-Orafai is the author of Malak, Paper Cotton Leather, and five chapbooks. Book of Levitations, her poetry collection with Anne Champion, is forthcoming from Trembling Pillow Press in 2019. Recent poetry appears in Cream City ReviewNinth LetterThe Cortland Review, andHotel Amerika. Recent prose appears in Fourteen Hills and The Collagist. She is co-founding editor of Josephine Quarterly, Professor of English at Kennesaw State University, and Executive Director of Georgia Writers Association.

Lindsay Turner's first book of poems, Songs & Ballads, was published in 2018 by Prelude Books. Her translations of contemporary Francophone poetry and philosophy include Atopias (Frédéric Neyrat, with Walt Hunter, Fordham, 2017), as well as adagio ma non troppo (Ryoko Sekiguchi, Les Figues, 2018) and The Next Loves (Stéphane Bouquet, Nightboat, 2019). She teaches English and Creative Writing at Furman University.
