The University of Georgia's Creative Writing program, UGA Press and Avid Bookshop present Leah Nieboer as she launches her new book, Soft Apocalypse, on March 29, 2023, at 7:00pm. The reading will take place at Ciné's Lab.

Leah Nieboer grew up in rural Iowa. She is a PhD candidate in English and Literary Arts at the University of Denver, a graduate of the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers, the winner of the 2022 Mountain West Writers’ Contest in Poetry, and the recipient of a Virginia Center for Creative Arts Fellowship. Her first collection of poetry, Soft Apocalypse, was selected by Andrew Zawacki as the winner of the 2021 Georgia Poetry Prize, and her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Brooklyn Rail, Poetry Daily, Western Humanities Review, Interim, and other publications. She lives in Denver and is at work on a speculative novel.
