You can find out more atwww.notmuchisreallysacred.com. Melanie Morgan grew up in a small town in Germany. In 1995 she moved with her Jamaican husband to the United States and in 2001 they decided to make Athens their hometown and raise their two children there. Enjoying everything Athens had to offer as a music town, 7 years later Melanie decided to pick up her daughter’s unused guitar and fell in love with the instrument. She started teaching herself, then moved on to take guitar lessons, playing with neighbors and eventually much to her own surprise started writing her own songs. Her songs are about anything that comes to her mind and range from social injustice to the next shopping dilemma. Mostly she plays with a band called Between Naybors, but sometimes you can see her braving the stage by herself.
