“The title is paraphrased from a lawyer's statement about violence against women in India. Unfortunately, this attitude is common throughout the world. It suggests that any woman who is victimized is by default not worthy of respect, or she would not have been attacked. The violence itself is proof that she deserved to be treated violently.
We females have been vilified and victimized for millennia. Even in America, we live in an invisible prison and hardly notice it anymore. We do our best to avoid dangerous men at the expense of our own freedom. We are captives confined to daylight and safe neighborhoods. If we allow ourselves a taste of freedom, then we are blamed if we are harmed.
We must not allow others to convince us that we are inferior or unworthy of respect. We cannot overcome negative attitudes until we support each other and speak out against the unfairness of the situation.”

"I paint pretty peculiar still lifes. I work in oil paints on canvas, employing an unusual dry brush technique to capture small details. Small, delicate, and ethereal items in particular speak to me. By combining inspiration and imagination, I hope to share my ideas with open-minded and open-hearted people."
